About Raymond L. Rigoglioso
Gay Men of Wisdom Founder
Ray brings to Gay Men of Wisdom an extensive background in the nonprofit sector, beginning in 1991 at Gay Men's Health Crisis. From 1994-2001, he held senior editorial positions at The Picker Institute in Boston, a health care think tank, and the United Hospital Fund, a health care philanthropy and research organization in New York City.
Since 2001 he has provided communications, fundraising writing, and management consulting to nonprofit clients that have included New York City Mission Society, the Visiting Nurse Service of New York, The Good Dog Foundation, Gilda's Club Worldwide, Immigration Equality, and the Central Park Conservancy, to name a few. He has taught at New York University's George H. Heyman, Jr. Center for Philanthropy and Fundraising and at the Support Center for Nonprofit Management in New York City.
In 2009 he became certified as a life coach through the International Coach Federation. He received his formal coach training through Coach University.
In 1989, just months after he came out, he co-founded the Danbury (Connecticut) Area Gay and Lesbian Youth Group and facilitated this group for a year.
Ray lives with his husband Rob in Philmont, New York.
